From the outside, it is really hard to differentiate the 5G variant from its 4G twin. Among the features that they share together are a 6.6-inch Full HD+ PLS LCD display, 6GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, and support for microSD cards with storage of up to 1TB. Their camera setup is almost identical too which includes a 50MP f/1.8 primary camera, 2MP f/2.0 macro camera, and 13MP f/2.0 selfie camera. However, Samsung somehow decided to fit a 2MP f/2.4 depth camera into the A14 5G instead of retaining the 5MP f/2.2 camera from the 4G variant. [Image: Samsung.]Both devices have also been equipped with a 5000mAh battery which seemed to be a common trait among many budget-oriented devices as of late. Not to forget, they also carry a side-mounted fingerprint reader and a 3.5mm audio jack. Internally, the A14 5G for the Malaysian market which has a model number SM-A146P is running on a more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor as opposed to the Helio G80 on the 4G variant. In addition to that, the 5G model also has a much higher display refresh rate of 90Hz. Naturally, there is also a price difference between the two devices. Even though Samsung Malaysia’s own website has yet to reveal the phone’s price tag, those who are interested to get their hands on the device can now obtain it through several retailers such as DirectD and Vivid Concept for RM949. Despite its appearance in various promo images, the Light Green colourway (most left) is not yet available in Malaysia though. So, in other words, you are looking at a difference of RM150 to have either 5G or 4G with your A14.
