91mobiles has shared renders that look very much like that of the Nothing ear (1), which reportedly come from Kuba Wojciechowski, another leakster in the the mobile devices space. The similarity makes sense if this is meant to be its direct successor, with the only clear difference being the ear (2) marking on each stem. The brand’s name has been removed, which makes the rest of the stem look cleaner. Beyond that, the Nothing ear (2) has the familiar transparent bits as the model it is replacing. The case also looks mostly the same, albeit with the middle portion looking cleaner and not textured. Though no details on specifications were shared, which is understandable at this stage. What is a little surprising though is that the report claims that the company “could soon launch the Nothing ear (2) TWS earbuds”. Which is a pretty bold claim since, as mentioned, the company has not yet even launched the much teased Ear (stick) yet. That is currently scheduled to happen in the middle of next week, on 26 October 2022. But should that claim be true, then Nothing is also sending out very mixed messages on its earbuds. Not only did the company announce that it is raising the price of the original ear (1) by a whopping 50% next week, founder Carl Pei also encouraged potential customers to buy their own pair before the prices actually go up. It would feel like quite the gut shot if one were to buy the first generation TWS buds now, before the price hike, only for the next generation model to be announced shortly after. (Source: 91mobiles)
