[Original Story – 18 May 2023, 12:20 PM] Razer has announced its new line of Nommo V2 speakers, the follow-up to the original Nommo speakers that came out in 2018. The new series is made up of three devices, starting with the Nommo V2 X and the base Nommo V2 with the Nommo V2 Pro being the top offering. The Nommo V2 Pro boasts 3-inch full-range drivers and is the only pair of speakers in the lineup that offers a wireless down-firing subwoofer for deeper bass. As the flagship, it supports THX spatial audio, Razer Chroma RGB, a custom 10-band EQ along with a USB audio input and Bluetooth 5.3 for connectivity. Additionally, it comes with a Wireless Control Pod that lets you control the V2 speakers via Bluetooth. It has a rotatable, clickable dial, a source button, and can last up to eight months on a single charge. Next, we have the vanilla Nommo V2, which is essentially the same with similar specs as the Pro except that it comes with a wired subwoofer instead of wireless and while it’s compatible with the Wireless Control Pod, you will have to buy it separately. Aside from those two differences, it comes with the same features including THX spatial audio, RGB, and Bluetooth 5.3. Finally, there’s the most affordable model of the lineup, the Nommo V2 X. The X still comes with three-inch drivers with support for THX spatial audio, but it is downgraded to Bluetooth 5.0 and does not come with RGB or a subwoofer. Similarly, it’s compatible with the Wireless Control Pod but it will have to be purchased separately. The Razer Nommo V2 X retails for RM859 while the V2 and V2 Pro cost RM1,399 and RM2,309 respectively. As for the Wireless Control Pod as a standalone accessory, it will be available in August and the local price has not been revealed yet, but for reference, it carries a price tag of US$49.99 (~RM228) in the US.
