Much of the general specs of the new SUV have been revealed ahead of the official launch event today. For example, one of its most highlighted features is the fact that it is powered by a hybrid powertrain. Specifically, a mild hybrid setup called the 48V Electric Motor Synergy (EMS) System has been paired with the vehicle’s 1.5L TGDi three-cylinder turbo engine. Alongside a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, the powertrain that has been fitted into the X90 can deliver a combined power output of 190PS together with 300Nm of torque. While the X90 might be largely based on the Geely Okavangi (or Haoyue, as it is being called in China), you can easily differentiate Proton’s version by its front grille design that was apparently inspired by songket. Inside, the SUV comes standard with a 10-inch LCD digital instrument cluster while there is also another 12.3-inch display for its infotainment system that is powered by the E02 processor from ECARX. Among them is the ability to detect & display road signs through a feature called Traffic Sign Information and there is also the Rear Collision Warning that would alert drive for potential rear-end collision alongside the Rear Cross Traffic Alert that notify users of approaching vehicle when they are reversing their X90. Available in either a 6 or 7-seater configuration, the X90 can be obtained in four variants: Standard, Executive, Premium, and Flagship. Here are the general differences between them, according to an early brochure that was released to the dealerships: [Image: Proton X90 Community Malaysia / Facebook.]The official price tag for Proton X90.
