In addition to revealing the launch month, Pei also said that the Nothing Phone (2) will be getting a simultaneous global release. This means that it will be available at the same time in all the markets that are getting the phone. Which is nice, since we had to wait for 10 or so days after its international release before the first phone became available in the local market.
Beyond the release month, the Forbes interview with Pei also revealed that the Nothing Phone (2) will also be packing a 4,700mAh battery. This is contrary to a previous claim that it will get a 5,000mAh battery, which puts all the accompanying claims on shaky ground, to say the least. Also part of the interview was Pei explaining why the Nothing Phone (2) is getting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen1 chip rather than the Gen 2. According to the interview, Pei claims that the “Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen1 is a proven processor”, and that the company prefers to “prioritise user experience over being first in the specs race”. Which makes sense, as it also helps keep costs down a tad when not using the absolute latest and greatest.
For those anticipating the launch of the Nothing Phone (2), you now have a month on the calendar you can mark. Though for the exact date, you’ll still have to wait for the company to announce it as we get closer to July. (Source: Forbes)
